Rate card market: United Kingdom

| Estimated total per month | $789.00 | ||
List rates per delivered message, before taxes and any fees your WhatsApp Business solution provider adds. Utility and authentication rates are the first volume tier; higher monthly volumes can unlock lower rates. Meta changes rates, usually once a quarter.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type, paste or upload is sent to MobileValidate or anyone else, and nothing is stored. The page counts one anonymous "tool used" event per visit (no numbers, no text), and sends nothing at all when your browser asks not to be tracked.
Check which of your numbers are on WhatsApp before you pay for template messages
Plan your budget on the numbers that can actually receive WhatsApp, and send the rest by SMS or e-mail. Our WhatsApp number check answers registered, not registered or unknown for each number, from $0.00025 per number in bulk ($0.25 per 1,000). Unknown answers are free.
How it works
Market. The recipient's country decides the row of the rate card: its own row where Meta lists the country, otherwise its regional group (mapping as published by Meta, checked 2026-11-07).
Category. Each template is billed as marketing, utility or authentication. Authentication-international applies only in markets that have it, to businesses based elsewhere.
Cost. Rate per delivered message × messages per month, per category, added up. Calculated in whole micro-dollars, then rounded to the cent.
Rates are Meta's USD list rates, transcribed into our rate card dataset. Meta's rates change, and your provider may bill in another currency or add its own fee. Check Meta's pricing page for the current card.

SMS vs WhatsApp: what to compare
Comparing the per-message price alone misleads. WhatsApp bills only delivered template messages and only reaches numbers with a WhatsApp account; SMS reaches almost every mobile number, and providers usually bill each message sent, sometimes per message part. For one-time passcodes, many teams send WhatsApp first and fall back to SMS when the number has no WhatsApp account or the code is not used in time.
- Reach: what share of your numbers can receive WhatsApp at all? Check a sample of your list before you decide.
- Billing unit: per delivered message (WhatsApp) or per message sent and per part (SMS, depending on your provider).
- Country mix: both channels are priced per destination country, and the cheaper channel differs by country.
We don't publish SMS prices: they depend on the provider and the route. Use your provider's price list for the SMS side.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a WhatsApp Business message cost?
It depends on two things: the category of the template (marketing, utility or authentication) and the country of the recipient's phone number. Meta charges per delivered message. For example, a marketing message to a UK number costs $0.0635 and a utility message $0.0220. Marketing and authentication-international are the expensive categories; utility and authentication usually cost much less.
Which rate applies to my message?
The recipient's country calling code decides the market. Countries with their own row on Meta's rate card use it; the rest use a regional rate such as "Rest of Africa" or "Other". The calculator shows which market applies to the country you choose.
What is the authentication-international rate?
Some markets, such as India, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, have a higher rate for authentication (one-time passcode) messages sent by businesses based outside that country. Meta decides who pays it from the business's location. Where a market has no such rate, the calculator leaves the field off.
Are messages to numbers without WhatsApp charged?
No. Meta charges only delivered messages, and a message to a number without a WhatsApp account is never delivered. But those customers never get the message, and a list full of such numbers makes your volume estimate and your campaign plan wrong. Checking the list first tells you which numbers can receive WhatsApp and which need SMS or e-mail instead.
Are service messages free?
Free-form replies inside the 24-hour customer service window (service messages) were free until 30 September 2026. From 1 October 2026 Meta charges them after a free tier of 1,000 per business phone number per month. The calculator covers template messages; the rate card dataset includes the service rates.
How current are these rates?
They are Meta's published USD list rates for the card effective 2026-10-01, from our public rate card dataset. Meta changes rates and market groupings, usually once a quarter, and volume tiers can lower utility and authentication rates. Always confirm on Meta's pricing page before you commit a budget.
